July 4 was a Glorious Day at Camp Ramah!
July 4th was a spectacular day at Camp Ramah! At breakfast in the Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall), we took a break from Hebrew to celebrate. Veteran shira (song) leaders Cantor Jeremy Stein and Oren Kaunfer sang well-known American songs while our chanichim (campers) showed their ruach with exuberant dancing and their sometimes unusual red, white and blue outfits.
For the first time in several days, the sky turned a clear blue and it was a glorious day for chanichim to get into the rhythm of a “Yom Ragil” (a day with a regular schedule). Chanichim enjoyed their chuggim (electives) and peulot (activities with their bunks and edot) in the great weather.
As the sun set, the entire camp gathered at the Agam (lake) for a spectacular fireworks display! Against the clear sky and the glassy lake, the colors and formations with breath-taking – and an exciting end to a great day at camp.
